I have a vase or jar and want to make a table lamp

I have a vase: we turn it into a table lamp
A vase, a demijohn or a jar can become the base of a table lamp, with no drilling. It only needs access from the inside and an opening of 11 to 34 mm. The system tightens in the opening with two washers, and a tube with the lampholder goes on top. You choose the lampholder, tube, shade, bulb and cable.
What it includes and what each part is for
- Fixing system Conical cord grip, threaded rod, coupler, nut and two washers sized to the opening. We always add it.
- Tube Raises the lampholder above the opening. From 50 to 300 mm long, in several finishes.
- Lampholder We show whether it takes a shade. For a shade, you need an E27 lampholder with a shade ring.
- Shade Optional: fabric shades for table lamps.
- Cable A flat cable, which we add, runs inside the tube; in the vase it joins the decorative cable using the supplied connector blocks.
- Switch and plug The switch is optional; the plug is required. There are also ready-made cables with both.
You do not have to work anything out: the configurator counts these parts for what you choose.
How it goes together
- Measure the opening of the vase on the inside and check that you can get your hand or fingers in.
- Thread the flat cable through the tube and rod, then assemble the lampholder, tube, coupler and rod.
- Put one washer above the opening and the other inside, and tighten them with the nut and cord grip.
- Inside the vase, join the flat cable to the decorative cable with the two connector blocks.
- Fit the switch and plug if your cable does not have them, then screw in the bulb. If you chose a shade, fit it.
Make all connections with the lamp unplugged. If you have no experience with electrical work, ask an electrician to do them.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to drill the vase?
No. The system tightens in the opening with two washers, one above and one inside.
Which vases are suitable?
Those with access from the inside and an opening of 11 to 34 mm. If the opening is wider or narrower, we warn you and the configurator does not continue.
Can I add a shade?
Yes, if you choose a lampholder that takes one: on each one we show «Takes a shade» or «No shade».
Why are there two cables?
Only a thin flat cable fits through the tube; we add it. Inside the vase, two connector blocks join it to the decorative cable that runs to the socket.
